Content is King. And yet, so often it is not served well. FitLinxx had numerous authors who wrote health and fitness articles for the web site. As a matter of fact, more articles than could be easily accessed, categorized, etc. So, I recategorized, and trimmed down, and so on... basically driving content to the mode of a weekly portal, to drive cost savings for content creation, and still have a sense of arrival and manageable change.
Of specific interest is the inclusion of the small "Track Yourself" area at the top of the second content column. The objective was to get people involved in tracking their fitness, be they a "FitLinxx facility member" or not. All are free to track their fitness using the website's tools.

Easy readability of content is crucial to the success of an online magazine. Also, people want to know what's popular, how to follow a thread, easy access to glossary definitions to help the read, and they want to voice their opinions when it suits their style. The magazine content format was a big hit for users. It allowed for all of these features, as well as navigation within an article series, and an easy-on-the-eye format.
